Duncan Mackenzie | Eagles of the Pacific Northwest

About this Artist

I set out on this project to document the wide variety one can see within a single species. Traveling to the Fraser River Valley in British Columbia, the Skagit Valley, and to the Yakima River, I was able to find dozens of these beautiful birds of prey. Each bird was unique, some obviously juveniles, but all of them shared the distinctive traits that make eagles so popular. Sitting up in their chosen tree, they are always alert, scanning the nearby fields (or roads) for food.

About this Work

I’m an avid hobbyist photographer, and my only goal is to take photos that capture the moments I experience. Wildlife is my current focus, specifically birds, as they are endlessly fascinating and very challenging! My future plans involve using photography as a great excuse for some amazing travel and time spent wandering around outdoors.
