KC Fieland | Adult Psgr: Reflections on Ferries and their Terminals

About this Artist

My love of trees and the coast was nurtured by my lifelong good fortune of calling the Pacific Northwest home. I am renewed by my mindful work of capturing photos of what I observe and experience in the present moment. Inspired by the play of light, gradients of color, and distinct textures, I particularly enjoy composing photographs in nature and of old and new architecture.

About this Work

This project was inspired by ferry transportation memories. A tapestry of memory slivers: standing on the ferry deck feeling the warmth of the sun, the wind in my hair, and looking across the water toward land; studying and hanging out with college friends feeling the sensation of the motor rumble across the water; traveling with and to family and friends for adventure and connection. In a time of AI and creative blending of multiple photos, this project is created by single capture photos of visual impressions that are much like snippets of incomplete and layered memories evoked by sense of place. This project created new memories to join the tapestry.
