About this Artist
I’m an award-winning writer and photographer anchored in the Pacific Northwest. Writing and photography entered my life early via my father’s eclectic artist friends, including the pioneering photographer Jini Dellaccio. From Dellaccio’s work, I learned the power of black and white to tell compelling visual stories. Consequently, I prefer capturing images in black and white, most notably plein air, civic spaces, and public art installations.
About this Work
My project reflects the Zen proverb “Clouds float, water flows” - a lesson in impermanence, letting go, and serenity. As a native Pacific Northwesterner, I grew up between clouds and sea. As a writer, home becomes a blur between travels on the road. As a photographer, I wanted to capture the ebb and flow of clouds and water in my own lakeside community for one season, finding unexpected lessons from this proverb along the way.
