About this Artist
My work as a photographer explores the sheer beauty built into the foundations of fashion, hair, and makeup and creating art centering makeup and styling, embodying confidence and emotions that comes from embracing these parts of our culture. I put a spotlight on the beauty that’s in every pore, every spec of glitter, every swipe of a makeup brush, every fiber and fabric of the world. I put into the world the creativity and escapism that only our wildest dreams can concoct.
About this Work
For this project, I focused on highlighting spring’s delicate floral and earthy colors. I utilized natural lighting to shoot in environments outside my comfort zone and strengthen the emotional draw my photos evoke. Instead of the bold and punchy colors I usually favor in my work, I wanted nature (as the main backdrop and setting) to speak for itself. Nature is delicate but strong, a necessary force in our world that gives us the breath in our lungs and fosters the natural ecosystems around us.
