Lemma Brehan | Juxtaposition: Ghost of the Presents
About this Artist
Lemma Brehan, a seasoned Architect with a long and successful career overseas, has long been haunted by a passion for photography- a ghost from his past that calls him still. After hours, he chased fleeting moments of nightlife, events, and fashion, until that calling led him to refine his craft at UW Continuum College in Photography. With an Architect’s eye and storyteller’s heart, he now captures the delicate dance between structure and dream, in Seattle’s vibrant scenes.
About this Work
This is an experimental series exploring movement as a spectral presence—where human forms dissolve into layered impressions of time. Using long exposure and stacking techniques, I capture gestures suspended between stillness and motion. Departing from architectural work, this series centers on figures that appear both present and fading. Vivid colors heighten the contrast between clarity and blur, grounding each image in a dreamlike atmosphere where presence flickers, fades, and lingers on the edge of perception.
