Abdur Rauf | Between Light and Shadow

About this Artist

Photography began as a way for me to capture the beauty of places, people, and moments worth remembering. What started with landscapes and travel photography evolved into a passion for portraiture and creative lighting, where I discovered the power of visual storytelling. Living in the Pacific Northwest continues to inspire my work, and I am motivated by creating meaningful images that connect people, preserve memories, and tell authentic stories.

About this Work

This series explores the relationship between light, shadow, and identity through dramatic studio portraits. Using controlled lighting, smoke, water particles, and silhouettes, the images examine how we present ourselves and how we are perceived by others. The contrast between illumination and darkness reflects themes of introspection, transformation, and personal growth. The work invites viewers to consider the visible and hidden aspects of human experience, and how both contribute to our understanding of who we are.
