About this Work
I grew up on the shores of the San Francisco Bay and now make my home near the waters of Seattle’s Puget Sound. The infinite interplay between water, sky, land, and light means every ocean scene is being viewed for the first time, every time. I created these photographs on a long road trip from Seattle to San Francisco in May 2025. I was struck by the natural beauty and sense of solitude evoked by the many beaches along that stretch of Pacific coast, at different times of day and in different weather. No scene ever the same.
